New Zealand Real Estate blog is authored by Bryan Thomson, CEO Harcourts New Zealand, and is designed to provide Bryan’s thoughts, opinions and comment on topics relevant to those interested in New Zealand real estate and the real estate industry.
Given the jumble of information available regarding these topics I hope to add clarity to the understandings people have rather than to help confuse everyone further.
With the extensive travel my role involves both within New Zealand and off shore I also look forward to being able to provide insight to the many and varied locations I visit and the great people I meet and work with.
Your connection and participation with this blog are welcomed and invited, I trust you find value in its content and perhaps every now and then maybe even a quiet smile!

Brian,
Great to see you using the power of the blog. I very much like what you have done with your blog so you can expect to see mine up shortly. I thought your comments on realestate.co.nz about the merger with allrealestate were particularly appropriate. I have also used technology to support our existing legal industry and hope to recieve similar support from the legal profession.
Cheers

Our property, Palm Beach Lodge, (Harcourts wk080603) has been on the market since February 07. In that time there has not been even a single silly offer made. It is currently on general listing with four agents, having commenced with a Bayleys sole agency for some considerable time.
A considered opinion from an ‘off-island’ person would be appreciated as at this stage it would appear that we have ventured down every possible avenue to absolutely no avail.

Hi Marion, I will be in contact with you through our Waiheke Team. I am very happy to discuss your situation and make some suggestions as to how to attack the selling of your property in 2009.
Merry Xmas

Hello Brian,
A Housing complex built by a Glen Eden Builder in Forest Hill Road, Henderson,is probibly one of the best examples of group sustainable living seen for sometime. In association with my Manager Le Anne Robinon we would like to investigate this more & ask for Authority to give the Builder a Special Achiement Award for community service. This could involve News media interest and would appreciate your comment.
Regards, John Hughes.

Hi Bryan great to see one of the leading Real Estate Companies embracing the power of blogging. I have been at it for the last couple of months. Its a great way to keep Industry related professionals in the loop. It’s a no brainer really. Look forward to reading more. I believe Harcourts has been really successful in Western Australia with the take over of Roy Weston. I know Roy Weston well as I started in the Conveyancing Industry back in 1984 with Strand Settlement Settlements. Warm regards
